These are some of our favorite trading books. There are no referrals or anything like that going on here: we just want to share which books we’ve liked, have helped us, and why. I am linking Amazon because they have informative reviews and it’s a nice cheap way to get books.
Here are the first two of many, this page will be further developed soon.
The Market Wizards - Jack Schwager did a superb job interviewing most of the top traders and money managers over the last 20 years in this series. Each of these books contains a whole bunch of interviews of people like Warren Buffet, Paul Tudor Jones and others. How they became successful traders and investors, what they do, how they think, etc etc. At the back of the books there are summaries of the important points these individuals make. Read these books to understand how to think like a trader and to get some great tips - what to avoid, what to focus on.
Reminiscences of a Stock Operator - An old classic, recounting the life of Jesse Livermore a famous trader from over a hundred years ago. The book is mostly true. Lots and lots of great lessons here as Jesse made and lost his fortune over and over. Many trading truisms such as let your winners run, cut your losers short originated here.
